Dr. Ebi Awosika

Dr. Ebi Awosika directs Employee Health Promotion Disease Prevention (Employee Wellness) in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) out of the Office of Public Health and Environmental Hazards. She is a board certified internist and Occupational Health Physician who directed Employee Occupational Health at the Minneapolis Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center prior.
Dr. Awosika is currently directing VHA’s pilot program on employee health promotion and disease prevention in 5 states in the Midwest region, providing health promotion programs integrated with a robust employee safety and health program, looking at differences in health behaviors between employees and the community and the effect of worksite health coaching, tobacco cessation program, stress management, increased physical activity and healthy eating on health behaviors and health productivity with quantitative outcomes.
Dr. Awosika completed her residency in internal medicine at the Harlem hospital, New York and her Occupational Medicine residency at Emory University, Atlanta. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Awosika is married to a psychiatrist and they have 2 daughters. She is actively involved in community service through her local church.
